University of California invites young adults to destress with 10-day mindfulness program


The University of California Center for Climate, Health, and Equity invites young adults and students nationwide to join a virtual 10-day “Stress Break” led by expert mindfulness teachers.

Hosted by the UC Climate Resilience Initiative, the program features co-directors Elissa Epel (UCSF), Philippe Goldin (UCD), and Jyoti Mishra (UCSD), along with guest speakers Justin Michael Williams, Cheryl Shah, Anthony “T” Maes, and Diana Hill.

Sessions will run on weekdays from February 24 to March 7, from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. PST. Each day explores a different theme, including mindfulness of emotions, deep listening, social connection, and self-compassion.

“It’s a tough time for many, with a lot of stress and demands on your attention—including wildfires, school, and political change,” the center writes in its message to students, noting the program aims to help participants settle their mind, calm their body, focus attention, and connect in social solidarity.
