These chocolate dipped Halloween Pretzels are an adorable and addicting holiday treat.. we can’t get enough of the sweet and salty crunch. They’ll make a perfect addition to your Halloween spread!
I had a lot of fun creating these Halloween Chocolate Dipped Pretzels! Not only are they pretty fool-proof, but they come together really quick with just a few ingredients. And they are insanely addictive. I don’t know many people that are able to resist the sweet, salty, and crunchy appeal of chocolate pretzels. And this adorable Halloween variation is no exception! They are perfect for Halloween parties, gifting, or goodie trays. And they made the cutest addition to our Halloween charcuterie board!
All the ingredients are widely available at most grocery stores. Originally, the recipe called for colored chocolate wafers. These are convenient, but can be a lot harder to find. So we opted for using chocolate bark and food coloring. A bit of coconut oil helps the chocolate melt smoothly and makes it a lot easier to work with. And we kept the decorations super simple. So get the kids in the kitchen and let’s start baking!
Avoid overheating the chocolate. You want to melt your chocolate for short intervals, stirring well in between, just until the chocolate is melted. Otherwise you risk your chocolate seizing or burning. If it starts to solidify while you are dipping your pretzels, simply add the chocolate back to the microwave for another 15 seconds or so until nice and melted.
Don’t wait too long to add your toppings. The chocolate hardens pretty quickly, so I only like to dip about 4-5 pretzels at a time before adding decorations.
Storing leftover Halloween Pretzels. Store dipped pretzels in an airtight container for up to two weeks. These are a great treat to make ahead of time for holiday parties!
Why do you add coconut oil to the chocolate? The coconut oil is optional, but it makes the chocolate much smoother and easier to work with. You just need a little bit, and you can’t taste it at all!

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the chocolate melts in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave at half power for 1 minute. Remove and stir in the coconut oil. If more time is needed, microwave for 15-seconds, stirring after every 15 seconds.
Transfer melted white chocolate to a squeeze bottle or pastry bag.
Squeeze a small amount of white chocolate in the top two holes of the pretzel covering completely. Place candy eyes onto the chocolate.
Using quick back and forth motions, pipe white chocolate onto the pretzel to look like mummy cloth. Let the pretzels dry completely and then transfer to a serving tray.
Drop each pretzel in the melted chocolate and submerge it slightly. Use a fork to remove each pretzel and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
Place 1 green M&M into the top indent of the pretzel on its side, so it’s standing up. Let the pretzels dry completely and then transfer to a serving tray.
Drop each pretzel square in the melted chocolate and submerge it slightly. Use a fork to remove each pretzel and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
Place a candy eye in each of the top two holes of the pretzel.
Sprinkle chocolate sprinkles on the top of the pretzel for hair.
Break a pretzel into small pieces and place a piece of the pretzel to each side of the chocolate covered pretzel to create Frankenstein’s bolts. Let the pretzels dry completely and then transfer to a serving tray.
