Eliminating sugar from the diet is an issue you hear me talk about a lot around here for a couple of important reasons. First of all, I get new visitors who have never been here before on a daily basis, and thus it is often a new concept for them. Since it is one of the cornerstones of my approach to optimizing health and well-being, I must present it frequently to newcomers.
Secondly, for many of my faithful readers, the serious impact on health caused by sugar consumption is also a new concept and for many people, new concepts are difficult to accept. New concepts are often dismissed the first time someone hears them. It often takes several exposures to a new concept before it clicks for someone, or they are able to see the truth in it and be willing to make the necessary changes in diet.
Even when it does click or they think it is true, most of society tells them otherwise, so they doubt themselves or the information they read, and they get caught back up in society’s denial. It’s just easier to go with the flow.
Getting sugar out of the diet takes a great deal of reprogramming of the mind and breaking free from brainwashing and conditioning that we have grown up with over a lifetime. That reprogramming is accomplished in large part by having repeated exposure to the new idea.
Last, but not least, change is a process. Even when someone wants to stop eating sugar, it usually takes time to accomplish the task and there will be a couple of steps backward now and then before reaching the goal. This is all human nature. So, if you’re one of my faithful readers, and you’re thinking “oh here she goes again,” I wanted to make you aware that there is a method to my madness.
The reason I place so much emphasis on the removal of sugar from the diet is simple. Most people are not aware of how this one sole step can make such a significant impact on their physical, mental, and spiritual health. In my own life, this is the single most powerful change I ever made and was a major turning point. It enabled me to overcome decades of disabling anxiety attacks, depression, drug and alcohol addiction, blood sugar instability, compulsive overeating, and much more.
With health care costs through the roof and many people struggling financially, this is an extremely powerful method of self-care that costs you absolutely nothing and requires no visits to the doctor. There is nothing more empowering.
Although breaking the sugar habit offers both short and long-term benefits and some of the benefits may go unnoticed, we can usually see immediate improvements in areas like improved mood, less anxiety, tension and stress, clearer thinking, a boost in the immune system, and extinguishing of cravings for sugar and carbs.
Declaring your independence from sugar can lead to more freedom in the following conditions: anxiety disorders, dysautonomia, headaches or migraines, acne, irritable bowel, Crohn’s, MS, asthma, depression, paranoia, arthritis, hyperactivity, concentration, problem-solving, hypoglycemia, blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, adrenal fatigue, memory, hormone imbalance, addiction, alcoholism, infections, food sensitivities, common aches and pains, irritability, chronic fatigue, PMS, compulsive overeating, obesity or weight management, type 2 diabetes, insomnia, loss of energy, candida overgrowth, SIBO, sympathetic dominance, insulin resistance, and many more.
You’ll experience better brain function, and you’ll have a stronger and healthier immune system, gastrointestinal system, metabolic system, nervous system, and cardiovascular system.
On the other hand, many people are aware they shouldn’t be eating sugar, but they just can’t seem to resist its seductive power. The reason people struggle so intensely to remove sugar from the diet is because they are dealing with a powerful addiction. Sugar is a mind-altering addictive drug.
Just like alcoholism and drug addiction, overcoming sugar addiction and sugar cravings is a complex and multi-faceted task. Each of these facets must be addressed in order to be successful. However, once achieved, the benefits will be many, and you can bask in your new-found freedom.
In order to be successful in declaring your independence from sugar in your life, you must be armed with the adequate resources to reach the goal, which is exactly what you will find in my “Break Your Sugar Addiction Today Toolkit.” With these tools, you can overcome your cravings and end the battle with sugar for good.
Regardless of which health condition you face, you simply can’t go wrong by making this one simple change in your diet. Declare your independence from sugar today and move toward a higher level of health.
